This is how we run our competition. It did not turn out QUITE like this on our first show - click here to see what changes were made - but what is explained here is our overall goal, and it is how we want to conduct our next show in Rocklin.

Yes, there are judges. But, they are no more than critics. Kinda like American Idol. They will be watching the bands' every move and chord and will judge on these categories:

• Most Original (creative)
• Best Original Song
• Best Appearance
• Best Stage Presence
• Best Musicianship (a.k.a. Most Talented)
• Best Material (lyrics, quality of songs)
• Best Drummer
• Best Guitarist
• Best Vocals

One of these will be awarded to every band, each with a special prize related to the catagory, and no band will not win something.

However, there must be an Overall Winner, because without one, there would be no competition, and no competition means no point. But, the Overall Winner cannot be determined by critical judges. Many critics can say for example, "this movie stinks butthole", but the movie could still hit it big in the box office. So then does it really stink? Therefore the overall winner, the one that will be awarded to one band and one band alone - ON TOP of the other prizes - will be based off of Audience Response. And who better to judge Audience Response than the audience? Whichever bands get the most votes in the overall poll wins a Grand Prize. Cool, huh?
